Are deleted stories archive?

Answered by Jeremy Urbaniak

Deleted stories are archived on Instagram. When you delete a story, it is moved to the “Recently deleted” folder where it remains for up to 24 hours. During this time, you have the option to restore the deleted story if you change your mind. After the 24-hour period, the story is permanently deleted and cannot be restored.

The purpose of the stories archive is to provide users with the ability to review and potentially re-share their past stories. This feature can be helpful if you accidentally delete a story or if you want to revisit and share a particular moment from your archive.

To access your stories archive, you can go to your profile and tap on the clock icon at the top right corner. This will show you a list of your archived stories, organized by date. From there, you can choose to view, re-share, or delete any archived story.

It’s important to note that stories in the archive are only visible to you unless you choose to re-share them. This means that other users cannot see your archived stories unless you make them public again.

In my personal experience, I have found the stories archive to be a useful feature. There have been instances where I accidentally deleted a story, but was able to retrieve it from the archive and re-share it. It saved me from having to recreate the content from scratch.

The stories archive on Instagram provides a convenient way to store and revisit your past stories. It gives you the flexibility to delete and restore stories as needed, ensuring that you have control over your content.
