To stop Instagram from saving your posted photos to your camera roll, follow these steps:
1. Open your Instagram app on your iPhone.
2. Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
3. Next, tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of the screen to open the menu.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and tap on “Settings.”
5. In the Settings menu, scroll down and tap on “Original Photos.”
6. Here, you’ll see the option to toggle “Save Original Photos” on or off. By default, it is turned on.
7. To stop Instagram from saving your posted photos to your camera roll, simply tap on the toggle switch to turn it off.
Once you’ve turned off “Save Original Photos,” any photos you take using the Instagram app’s camera will no longer be automatically saved to your iPhone’s camera roll. It’s important to note that this setting only affects photos taken within the Instagram app itself, and it doesn’t apply to photos you upload from your device’s gallery.
By disabling this feature, you can have more control over the photos that are saved to your camera roll, allowing you to manage your storage space more efficiently and avoid cluttering your gallery with duplicate photos.
I personally find this feature useful as it avoids duplicate photos taking up unnecessary space on my device. However, there may be instances where you want to save the original photos to your camera roll for various reasons, such as creating backups or using them outside of the Instagram app. In such cases, you can simply turn the “Save Original Photos” option back on.
Remember, these steps may vary slightly depending on the version of the Instagram app you have installed on your iPhone.
