Well, let me start by saying that I am a regular customer at Dunkin’ Donuts, and I can tell you that they do not give out free ice water. It’s something that has always puzzled me, to be honest. Whenever I go in and ask for a cup of water, I am always met with the same response – sorry, but we don’t give out water.
Now, I understand that Dunkin’ Donuts is primarily a coffee shop, and their main focus is on selling their beverages and food items. However, I find it a bit odd that they don’t offer something as basic as water. I mean, water is a necessity, and it’s not like it costs them a lot to provide it.
I have asked the employees at Dunkin’ Donuts why they don’t give out water, and they have given me a couple of reasons. One of the reasons they mentioned is that they are a small store, and they don’t have the resources to provide water to everyone who asks for it. I can understand this to some extent, as they may not have the space or the capacity to store and serve large quantities of water.
Another reason they mentioned is the cost of cups. Apparently, the cost of cups at Dunkin’ Donuts is more than the cost of their coffee. So, giving out free water in cups would actually be more expensive for them than selling a cup of coffee. While I can appreciate the financial aspect of this, it still seems a bit strange to me that a company as big as Dunkin’ Donuts can’t afford to provide water to its customers.
I have also heard that some Dunkin’ Donuts locations do offer water, but it seems to vary from store to store. So, it might be worth checking with your local Dunkin’ Donuts to see if they provide water or not.
While it may be understandable that Dunkin’ Donuts doesn’t provide free water due to their focus on selling coffee and the cost of cups, it still seems like a missed opportunity to provide a basic necessity to their customers. Personally, I think it would be a nice gesture if they offered water, even if it was just a small cup or a self-serve water station. But hey, that’s just my opinion as a loyal Dunkin’ Donuts customer.
