1. Outdated software: Ensure that both your iPhone and Mac are running the latest software versions. An outdated operating system can sometimes cause compatibility issues and prevent a successful restore. 2. Faulty USB connection: Check the Lightning cable and USB port connections. Make sure the cable is not damaged or frayed. Try using a different Lightning cable or connect to a different USB port on your Mac. Sometimes, a loose or faulty connection can prevent the restore process from initiating.

3. Trust the computer: When you connect your iPhone to your Mac for the first time, you need to trust the computer.
