Fluff Cowan, or William Cowan, is a renowned caddy in the world of professional golf. I had the pleasure of working alongside him during his time caddying for some of the biggest names in the sport.
Cowan’s caddying career began with Ed Sabo, although it was a relatively short partnership. After that, he teamed up with Peter Jacobsen, a talented golfer who had great success on the PGA TOUR. Together, they won a total of six tournaments during their time working together.
Their partnership lasted from 1978 to 1996, and they formed a strong bond both on and off the course. Cowan was known for his meticulous preparation and attention to detail, which complemented Jacobsen’s skills on the golf course.

Cowan was hired by Woods to be on his bag for this momentous occasion. It was a privilege for Cowan to be part of such a significant milestone in Woods’ career.
The tournament proved to be a success, with Woods finishing tied for 60th place. Although it may not have been the result they were hoping for, it was the beginning of a fruitful partnership between Cowan and Woods.
Cowan continued to caddy for Woods for several years, witnessing firsthand the rise of one of the greatest golfers of all time. Together, they achieved numerous victories and major titles, creating a legacy that will forever be remembered in the sport.
