What is a good opening prayer for a wedding?

Answered by Jarrod Smith

Dear Heavenly Father,

We gather here today with hearts full of joy and gratitude as we witness the union of NAME and NAME in holy matrimony. We thank you for bringing them together, for the love they share, and for the commitment they are about to make.

Lord, we ask for your blessings upon this couple as they embark on this beautiful journey together. May their love continue to grow and flourish, and may their marriage be a reflection of your divine love for us. Grant them the strength and wisdom to face the challenges that may come their way, and help them to always prioritize their love and respect for one another.

As they exchange their vows and rings, may their promises be sincere and heartfelt. May they always remember the vows they make today and hold true to them throughout their lives. Help them to be patient and understanding with one another, to communicate openly and honestly, and to always seek forgiveness and reconciliation when needed.

Lord, we pray for a home filled with love, joy, and laughter. May their marriage be a sanctuary of peace and comfort, a place where they both find solace and support. May they create a loving and nurturing environment where they can both grow individually and as a couple.

We also pray for their families and loved ones who are here to celebrate this special day. May their presence bring warmth and happiness to this occasion, and may they continue to support and encourage NAME and NAME in their marriage.

Lord, we ask for your guidance and protection over this couple as they begin their new life together. May they always seek you in their decisions, and may your love be their guiding light. Bless their union, their home, and their future together.

In your holy name, we pray. Amen.
