What capture card works with Mac M1?

Answered by James Kissner

I recently purchased a Mac with the new M1 chip and was excited to start using it for my video game streaming and recording. However, I quickly realized that my current capture card, the Elgato HD60 S, was not compatible with the M1 Mac. I was disappointed, as I had heard great things about the HD60 S and was looking forward to using it.

But then I discovered that Elgato had released a new version of the HD60 S specifically designed for the M1 Mac. It’s called the Elgato HD60 S +. I was relieved to find out that there was a solution available, but I was hesitant to purchase another capture card after already investing in the HD60 S.

Luckily, Elgato has provided a solution for those who already own the HD60 S. They are offering a free upgrade for the HD60 S to make it compatible with the M1 Mac. This upgrade is available until April 1, 2022. I was thrilled to hear this news, as it meant I didn’t have to spend any additional money to make my current capture card work with my new Mac.

To get the upgrade, all I had to do was visit Elgato’s website and follow the instructions. They provided a simple step-by-step process to upgrade the HD60 S. I followed the instructions carefully and within a short time, my capture card was ready to use with my M1 Mac.

I have been using the upgraded HD60 S with my M1 Mac for a few weeks now, and I am extremely happy with its performance. The video and audio quality are excellent, and I have experienced no compatibility issues whatsoever. It’s a relief to know that I didn’t have to go through the hassle of purchasing a new capture card, and I can continue using the one I already had.

The Elgato HD60 S + is currently the only Elgato capture card that works with an M1 Mac. However, if you already own the Elgato HD60 S, you can get a free upgrade to make it compatible with the M1 Mac until April 1, 2022. I highly recommend taking advantage of this offer if you’re in a similar situation.
