In Part 6 of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, titled Stone Ocean, we witness the continuation of the Joestar family’s extraordinary saga. Among the prominent characters is Joseph Joestar, the beloved protagonist from Part 2, Battle Tendency. Joseph is known for his wit, resourcefulness, and his iconic catchphrase, “Your next line is…”
When we first encounter Joseph in Stone Ocean, it becomes apparent that time has taken its toll on him. He is now an elderly man, with his once vibrant red hair now faded to a silvery gray. While it is never explicitly stated in the manga or anime, we can estimate Joseph’s age based on the timeline of the series.
Part 6 takes place in 2011, approximately 50 years after the events of Part 2. In Battle Tendency, which is set in 1938, Joseph is around 18 years old. If we fast forward 50 years, Joseph would be around 68 years old at the start of Stone Ocean.
Throughout the course of Stone Ocean, which spans several months, Joseph continues to age. By the end of the story, it is safe to assume that another year or so has passed. Therefore, Joseph would be around 69 or 70 years old at the conclusion of the series.
However, the events of Stone Ocean do not end on a happy note for the Joestar family. The main antagonist, Enrico Pucci, obtains the Stand ability called “Made in Heaven,” which allows him to accelerate time. This acceleration affects the entire world, causing everything to speed up exponentially.
Sadly, this means that Joseph, along with the rest of the world, would experience the effects of aging at an incredibly rapid rate. While Joseph may have survived to an impressive age, it seems highly unlikely that he would have made it out of the accelerated time in one piece, both figuratively and literally.
The conclusion of Stone Ocean leaves the fate of the Joestar family uncertain, and Joseph’s ultimate demise is left to our imagination. It is a bittersweet ending for a character who has captured the hearts of fans throughout the series.
As an avid fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, I must admit that Joseph’s aging and eventual fate in Stone Ocean were difficult to accept. Seeing a beloved character grow old and face such a tragic end was emotionally challenging. However, it is a testament to the storytelling prowess of Hirohiko Araki, the creator of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, that he was able to evoke such strong emotions from his audience.
Joseph Joestar is estimated to be around 69 or 70 years old by the end of Part 6, Stone Ocean. While his exact fate is left ambiguous, it is likely that he did not survive the accelerated time caused by Made in Heaven. The tragic end of Joseph’s character adds a layer of complexity and emotional depth to the series, leaving fans to ponder the legacy of the Joestar family.
