Is trending on YouTube gone?

Answered by Cody Janus

Trending on YouTube is no longer available in the form of a dedicated tab on the platform’s iOS and Android apps. YouTube has replaced the Trending tab with a new section called Explore. This change aims to provide users with a more comprehensive and diverse selection of popular videos.

The Explore page on YouTube’s mobile apps functions similarly to the previous Trending tab by showcasing videos that are currently popular. However, it goes beyond this by incorporating broader categories such as gaming, music, beauty, and learning. This means that users can explore content in specific areas of interest rather than relying solely on the overall popularity of videos.

The removal of the Trending tab and introduction of the Explore page reflects YouTube’s efforts to cater to a wider range of user preferences and interests. By incorporating more specific categories, users can easily discover content that aligns with their personal tastes and hobbies.

Personally, I find this change to be quite beneficial. While the Trending tab was useful for discovering popular videos, it often lacked diversity and catered to a more mainstream audience. With the introduction of the Explore page, I feel that YouTube is taking a step towards inclusivity and providing a platform for various niches and interests.

Furthermore, the Explore page allows users to delve deeper into specific categories. For example, if someone is interested in gaming, they can explore the latest gaming-related content without having to rely solely on what is popular overall. This provides a more tailored and personalized experience for users, enhancing their overall satisfaction with the platform.

Trending on YouTube has undergone a change with the removal of the dedicated Trending tab and the introduction of the Explore page. This new section incorporates popular videos while also offering categories that cater to specific interests such as gaming, music, beauty, and learning. The aim is to provide users with a more diverse and personalized experience on the platform.
