How do you use a sample in quick sampler?

Answered by Cody Janus

To use a sample in Quick Sampler, you first need to open the Quick Sampler window. In Logic Pro, start by creating a new Software Instrument Track. You can do this by going to Track > New Software Instrument Track. Once the track is created, click on the Instrument slot in the channel strip and select Quick Sampler from the pop-up menu.

This will open the Quick Sampler window, where you can load and manipulate your samples. To load a sample, you can click on the “Drag an audio file here” area in the Quick Sampler window and select the desired sample from your computer. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop the sample directly onto the Quick Sampler window.

Once the sample is loaded, you can preview it by clicking the play button in the Quick Sampler window. This allows you to listen to the sample and make any necessary adjustments before using it in your project.

In the Quick Sampler window, you have various options to edit and manipulate your sample. You can adjust the start and end points of the sample by dragging the corresponding markers on the waveform display. This allows you to select a specific portion of the sample to use.

Additionally, you can also adjust the loop points of the sample if you want it to repeat or loop a specific section. This can be done by dragging the loop markers on the waveform display. You can also enable or disable the loop feature by clicking the loop button in the Quick Sampler window.

Quick Sampler also provides options to change the pitch and speed of the sample. You can adjust the pitch by dragging the Pitch knob or by entering a specific value in the Pitch field. Similarly, you can adjust the speed of the sample by dragging the Speed knob or entering a value in the Speed field.

Furthermore, Quick Sampler offers various playback modes for your sample. You can choose between one-shot, forward, reverse, or ping-pong playback modes. These modes determine how the sample will be played back in your project.

Once you have made all the necessary adjustments to your sample, you can drag and drop it onto the Arrange window in Logic Pro to use it in your project. It will be placed on the Software Instrument Track you created earlier.

Using a sample in Quick Sampler involves opening the Quick Sampler window, loading the desired sample, previewing and making adjustments to the sample, and then dragging and dropping it into the Arrange window to use in your project. Quick Sampler provides a variety of editing and manipulation options to customize your sample according to your needs.
