How do you clean an Esembly outer?

Answered by Stephen Mosley

Cleaning an Esembly outer is super easy and doesn’t require laundering after each use. I love how convenient it is! Here’s what I do:

1. During the diaper change, I quickly inspect the cover to see if it’s soiled. This is important because if it is, I’ll need to wash it. But if it’s clean, I can reuse it with a fresh diaper.

2. If the outer is dirty or soiled, I simply place it in my Day Bag or Pail Pouch for laundering*. This way, it stays separate from the clean diapers and is ready for washing later on.

3. Once I have a pile of soiled outer covers, I throw them in the washing machine. Esembly recommends washing them every 2-3 days, so I make sure to do it within that timeframe.

4. I wash the outer covers on a cold or warm cycle with a mild detergent. It’s important not to use bleach or fabric softeners as they can damage the waterproof layer of the cover.

5. After the wash cycle is complete, I hang the outer covers to dry. Esembly advises against using the dryer as it can cause damage to the cover and reduce its lifespan.

That’s it! It’s really that simple to clean an Esembly outer. I love how low-maintenance it is compared to other diapering options. Plus, the fact that it’s reusable and doesn’t contribute to landfill waste makes me feel good about using it. So, whether I’m using it for my little one during the day or overnight, I know that keeping it clean is a breeze.

*Note: Esembly offers different storage options for soiled diapers, such as their Day Bag or Pail Pouch, which can be used to store dirty outer covers until laundry day.
