To use IFTTT with the Elgato Stream Deck, follow these steps:
1. Go to IFTTT’s website, IFTTT.com, and create an account if you don’t already have one.
2. Once you’re logged in, click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select “Create” from the dropdown menu.
3. On the next page, click on the “If This” button to choose a trigger for your Stream Deck.
4. Search for and select the trigger that you want to use. For example, you could choose a trigger that activates when you enter a specific location or when a specific person sends you a message.
5. Follow the prompts to set up the trigger. This will vary depending on the specific trigger you chose.
6. After setting up the trigger, click on the “Then That” button to choose an action for your Stream Deck.
7. Search for and select the action that you want to perform on your smart home devices. For example, you could choose an action that turns on your lights or adjusts the thermostat.
8. Follow the prompts to set up the action. This will vary depending on the specific action you chose.
9. Once you’ve set up the action, click on the “Create Action” button to finish creating your IFTTT applet.
10. Your applet should now be active and ready to use. You can test it by triggering the IFTTT action manually or by using the trigger that you set up.
11. Now, let’s integrate the Stream Deck with IFTTT. Open the Elgato Stream Deck software on your computer.
12. In the Stream Deck software, click on the “+” button to add a new button to your Stream Deck.
13. In the actions list on the left side of the screen, scroll down and find the “IFTTT” action. Drag and drop it onto the canvas area.
14. In the property inspector on the right side of the screen, you’ll see a field for the “Maker Key.” This key is an access key for your IFTTT account.
15. To find your Maker Key, go back to the IFTTT website and click on your profile picture in the top right corner. Select “My Applets” from the dropdown menu.
16. On the next page, click on the “Services” tab and search for “Webhooks.” Click on the “Webhooks” service.
17. On the Webhooks page, click on the “Settings” button in the top right corner.
18. On the next page, you’ll see your Maker Key. Copy the Maker Key and paste it into the property inspector in the Stream Deck software.
19. Once you’ve entered your Maker Key, you can customize the button label and icon for your IFTTT action. You can also choose the action and event that you want to trigger.
20. Click on the “Done” button to save your changes.
Now, when you press the button on your Stream Deck, it will trigger the IFTTT action that you set up. This allows you to control your smart home devices or perform other actions through IFTTT using your Elgato Stream Deck.
