Well, let me tell you, as a fan of the Legend of Zelda series, I’ve always wondered about the romantic relationship between Link and Zelda. And let’s face it, I’m sure I’m not the only one who has pondered this question. So, here’s my take on it.
In the Skyward Sword game, we see a strong bond between Link and Zelda. They have a deep connection and go through a lot together to save their world. However, in typical Nintendo fashion, their relationship is portrayed in a more innocent manner, suitable for a younger audience.
Throughout the game, we see a lot of moments where Link and Zelda share heartfelt conversations, emotional embraces, and even a few instances where they hold hands. But as for kissing? Well, Nintendo didn’t take it that far in the game.
Now, that’s not to say that Skyward Sword-era Link and Zelda didn’t have any romantic moments beyond the game. I mean, come on, they spent years together, fighting side by side, and going through countless adventures.
In my mind, I like to think that their relationship blossomed over time. Maybe they shared secret kisses when no one was looking or stole a few tender moments when they had some downtime from saving the world. After all, they were each other’s closest confidants and allies.
But alas, Nintendo prefers to keep the Legend of Zelda series suitable for a wide range of ages, including young children. So, they leave the romantic aspects of Link and Zelda’s relationship up to the imagination of the players.
While we may not see any explicit kissing scenes between Link and Zelda in the games, it’s safe to say that their relationship goes beyond just friendship. I believe that Skyward Sword-era Link and Zelda shared many intimate moments throughout their journey, even if they were not explicitly shown. Nintendo leaves it up to us, the players, to fill in the gaps with our own imaginations.
