Does no location found mean they stopped sharing location?

Answered by Robert Dupre

When you see “Location Not Available” on Find My Friends, it typically means that the person you are trying to locate has stopped sharing their location with you. It could be for a variety of reasons – they might have turned off location sharing for privacy reasons, or they could have disabled it temporarily.

In the Find My Friends app on your iOS device, you can stop sharing your own location by following these steps:

1. Open the Find My Friends app on your device.
2. Tap on the “Me” tab at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap on the “Stop Sharing My Location” option.

Once you stop sharing your location, your friends will no longer be able to see your current location. Instead, they will see “Location Not Available” when they try to locate you.

If you prefer to stop sharing your location using iCloud.com, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
2. Click on the “Find iPhone” icon.
3. In the top center of the screen, click on the “All Devices” drop-down menu and select your device.
4. Click on the “Stop Sharing My Location” option.

By stopping location sharing through iCloud.com, you can also prevent your friends from seeing your location in Find My Friends.

It’s important to note that even if you stop sharing your location, you can still see the location of your friends who are sharing their location with you. This means that you can continue to track their whereabouts, while maintaining your own privacy.

When you see “Location Not Available” on Find My Friends, it means that the person you are trying to locate has stopped sharing their location with you. You can stop sharing your own location through the Find My Friends app on your iOS device or through iCloud.com.
