Did the Bad Batch join the rebels?

Answered by Michael Wilson

The Bad Batch, a group of genetically enhanced clone troopers, does not join the Rebel Alliance right away in Episode 7 of the show. However, the show does provide hints and glimpses of the earliest formation of the Rebel Alliance.

In the episode titled “Battle Scars,” Captain Rex, a former clone trooper who fought alongside the Jedi during the Clone Wars, seeks out the help of the Bad Batch to remove a chip implanted in his brain that is causing him to act against his own will. The Bad Batch agrees to assist Rex, but their primary focus is on their own survival and finding their place in the post-Clone War galaxy.

While the Bad Batch initially seems indifferent to the larger political landscape, their encounters with Imperial forces and the Empire’s oppressive tactics begin to shape their perspective. As they navigate through various missions, they witness the Empire’s ruthless rule and the suffering of innocent civilians. These experiences start to awaken a sense of duty and responsibility within the Bad Batch.

As the series progresses, we see the Bad Batch becoming more sympathetic to the plight of the people and more willing to take action against the Empire. They rescue a group of refugees and assist a young girl named Omega, who becomes a member of their team. These acts of compassion and defiance against the Empire’s tyranny hint at the beginnings of their involvement in the Rebel cause.

Additionally, the Bad Batch encounters other characters who have already taken steps towards forming the Rebel Alliance. They cross paths with Saw Gerrera, a freedom fighter who eventually becomes a key figure in the Rebel Alliance. This connection further indicates that the Bad Batch is moving closer to joining the Rebel cause.

While the Bad Batch may not have officially joined the Rebel Alliance in Episode 7, the show portrays their journey as one that aligns with the ideals of the Rebellion. Through their experiences and interactions with the Empire, they begin to understand the importance of fighting for freedom and justice. It is likely that as the series progresses, we will see the Bad Batch fully embrace their role in the formation of the Rebel Alliance.

The Bad Batch’s path towards joining the Rebel Alliance is a gradual one. The show explores their evolution from a group focused on survival to one that recognizes the need to fight against the Empire’s oppression. Though they may not have joined the Rebel Alliance in Episode 7, the show sets the stage for their eventual involvement in the earliest formation of the Rebel Alliance.
