Can I remove iCloud email from Apple ID?

Answered by Robert Flynn

You can remove an iCloud email account from your Apple ID. I had a similar situation where I no longer wanted to use my iCloud email for various reasons. Here’s how I went about removing it:

1. First, I opened the Settings app on my iPhone or iPad. It’s the gear icon usually found on the home screen.

2. Once in the Settings app, I scrolled down and tapped on “iCloud”. This is where you can manage your iCloud settings.

3. In the iCloud settings, I looked for the “Mail” option and toggled it off. This disables the syncing of emails with your iCloud email account.

4. After turning off the Mail option, I received a prompt asking if I wanted to keep the data on my device or delete it. I chose to keep the data since I still wanted to access my old emails if needed.

5. Once I completed these steps, my iCloud email account was effectively removed from my Apple ID. I no longer received any emails through the Mail app on my device.

It’s important to note that removing an iCloud email account from your Apple ID does not delete the actual email account. The email address associated with the iCloud account will still exist, but you won’t receive any emails through it unless you enable the Mail option again.

Additionally, keep in mind that this process may vary slightly depending on the version of iOS or iPadOS you are using. However, the general steps should be similar.

You can remove an iCloud email account from your Apple ID by turning off the Mail option in the iCloud settings. This disables email syncing with your iCloud account, effectively removing it from your devices. However, remember that this does not delete the actual email account itself.
