In the Apple News app, you have the option to turn off notifications for the channels you follow. This means you can choose which channels you want to receive notifications from and which ones you don’t. This is particularly useful if you want to limit the number of notifications you receive or if there are certain channels that you’re not interested in receiving updates from.
To turn off notifications for a specific channel, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the Apple News app on your device.
2. Tap on the “Following” tab at the bottom of the screen.
3. Scroll through your list of followed channels and find the one for which you want to turn off notifications.
4. Once you’ve found the channel, tap on the “Following” button next to its name.
5. In the menu that appears, you will see an option to toggle off notifications for that particular channel. Simply tap on the toggle button to turn off notifications.
By turning off notifications for a channel, you will no longer receive any alerts or banners when new articles or updates are published by that channel. However, you will still be able to view their content in the Apple News app whenever you want.
In addition to channel notifications, you can also disable notifications for new magazine issues in Apple News+. If you have an Apple News+ subscription and prefer not to receive notifications about new magazine releases, you can turn off these notifications by following a similar process as described above.
Furthermore, Apple News Today audio briefings, which are daily audio news briefings available in the Apple News app, can also be turned off if you prefer not to receive them. You can find the option to disable Apple News Today briefings in the settings of the Apple News app.
Lastly, if you’re subscribed to the Apple News Newsletter and no longer wish to receive the newsletter via email, you can opt out of it. To do this, open the Apple News app, tap on the “Following” tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap on “Manage Subscriptions.” From there, you can toggle off the option for the Apple News Newsletter.
Apple News offers flexibility in managing notifications and subscriptions, allowing you to customize your experience based on your preferences and interests.
