An Xbox One S can play 4K Blu-rays. In fact, it was one of the first gaming consoles to offer this feature. I remember when I first got my Xbox One S, I was excited to try out 4K Blu-ray playback on my new 4K TV.
Setting up the Xbox One S for 4K Blu-ray playback was fairly straightforward. I simply connected the console to my 4K TV using an HDMI cable and made sure the TV’s settings were set to display 4K resolution. Then, I inserted a 4K Blu-ray disc into the disc tray and waited for it to load.
To my delight, the Xbox One S recognized the 4K Blu-ray and started playing it without any issues. The picture quality was stunning, with vibrant colors and sharp details. I was able to fully enjoy the high-definition visuals that 4K Blu-rays offer.
The Xbox One S also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range), which further enhances the visual experience. HDR allows for a wider range of colors and greater contrast, making the images on the screen appear more lifelike and immersive. I was truly impressed by the level of realism that HDR added to the 4K Blu-ray playback.
In addition to 4K Blu-ray playback, the Xbox One S also supports streaming 4K video from popular services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. This means that I can enjoy a wide variety of 4K content on my Xbox One S, whether it’s through physical discs or streaming.
It’s worth mentioning that the Xbox One X, the successor to the Xbox One S, offers even more powerful hardware and enhanced capabilities for 4K gaming and media playback. With its beefed-up specifications, the Xbox One X can deliver even better performance and visuals when playing 4K Blu-rays.
I have been extremely satisfied with the 4K Blu-ray playback on my Xbox One S. It’s a great feature that adds value to the console and allows me to enjoy my favorite movies and TV shows in stunning 4K resolution. If you’re looking for a gaming console that can also handle 4K Blu-rays, the Xbox One S is definitely a solid option.
