Can airsoft guns break windows?

I’ve had some experience with airsoft guns, and I can tell you that they generally don’t have enough power to break car windows. Airsoft guns are designed to shoot plastic BBs at relatively low velocities, usually around 300-400 feet per second (fps) for most guns. This is much lower than the speeds required to break glass.

I’ve seen people try to shoot car windows with airsoft guns, and while they may leave some marks or scratches, they rarely cause any significant damage. The windows are made of tempered glass, which is designed to be much stronger than regular glass. It takes a lot more force to break tempered glass than what an airsoft gun can generate.

That being said, there are some more powerful airsoft guns out there, such as automatic electric guns (AEGs) and gas airsoft guns. These guns can shoot at higher velocities, sometimes reaching up to 400-500 fps or even higher. While these guns have more power, they still don’t have enough to break car windows.

However, if you were to continuously shoot a car window with a powerful airsoft gun over the same spot, it is possible to crack or shatter a weak or already damaged window. This is because the repeated impact of the BBs on the same spot can weaken the glass and eventually cause it to break. But this would require sustained and concentrated fire on the same spot, which is unlikely to happen in a real-life scenario.

While airsoft guns do not have enough power to break car windows, powerful airsoft guns can potentially crack weak or damaged windows if fired continuously over the same spot. However, it’s important to note that this is not a common occurrence and is unlikely to happen in normal airsoft gameplay.
