All My Children’s Bryce: Remembering A Beloved Character

If you’re an avid soap opera fan, then you’re probably familiar with Bryce from All My Children. He was a regular character on the show for five seasons, first appearing in episode 33.

Bryce was born in Pine Valley and had a troubled past. He was an orphan and had been in and out of foster homes before he was taken in by two of his father’s friends, Hal and Ruthie Munson.

Bryce had a difficult relationship with his father, Kenneth Vaughn, who had abandoned him when he was young. With the help of Hal and Ruthie, however, he began to build a new life for himself and eventually became part of the close-knit community of Pine Valley.

Although Bryce tried to make amends with his father, the two never reconciled before Kenneth died in an accident while trying to rescue a child from a burning building. This event left Bryce feeling responsible for not being able to make things right between them before it was too late.

Bryce eventually found love with fellow All My Children cast member Gillian Andrassy. The two were together for several years until she moved away from Pine Valley after her mother’s death in 1999.

For the next few years, Bryce floundered around trying to figure out what to do with his life until he took up acting again and landed a role on anothr soap opera called Port Charles. Unfortunately for Bryce, that show got canceled shortly thereafter and he was forced to move back to Pine Valley where he found work as a waiter at Central Perk–a coffee shop frequented by the main characters of All My Children.

Tragically, Bryce met his end when he attempted to rescue someone during an avalanche in 2000. Even though it has been 16 years since then, we still fondly remember him as one of our favorite characters from All My Children!
