Are roombas good for pet hair?

Answered by Jason Smith

Roombas, in my experience, are absolutely fantastic for dealing with pet hair. I have two cats and a dog, and let me tell you, their fur gets everywhere. It’s a constant battle to keep my floors clean, and that’s where the Roomba comes in.

I’ve tried a few different robot vacuums over the years, but the Roomba has consistently been the best at tackling pet hair. The one I currently have is the iRobot Roomba S9, and it’s been a game-changer. This high-end model has some impressive features that really make a difference when it comes to dealing with pet hair.

First and foremost, the suction power on the Roomba S9 is outstanding. It’s able to pick up even the most stubborn pet hair from both low and high-pile carpet. I’ve noticed a significant reduction in the amount of fur that accumulates on my floors since using this vacuum. It’s also incredibly effective on bare surfaces like hardwood or tile, so there’s no need to worry if you have a mix of flooring in your home.

One of the things I really appreciate about the Roomba S9 is its ability to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. It uses a combination of sensors and mapping technology to create a detailed map of your home, allowing it to clean efficiently and avoid getting stuck. This is particularly important when it comes to dealing with pet hair, as it tends to gather in corners and under furniture. The Roomba S9 is able to get into those hard-to-reach areas and thoroughly clean them.

Another great feature of the Roomba S9 is its onboard HEPA filter. This is a must-have for pet owners, as it helps to trap fine allergens and keep the air in your home clean. I have family members who are allergic to pet dander, so having a vacuum that can help reduce allergens is a big plus for me.

In terms of maintenance, the Roomba S9 is relatively easy to clean. The dustbin is large enough to hold a good amount of pet hair before needing to be emptied, and the filter is simple to remove and wash. I do find that I need to clean the brush roll more frequently than with other vacuums, as pet hair tends to get tangled around it, but it’s a minor inconvenience for the overall performance of the Roomba.

I can confidently say that Roombas are excellent for dealing with pet hair. The iRobot Roomba S9, in particular, has been a lifesaver for me. Its powerful suction, intelligent navigation, and HEPA filter make it a top choice for pet owners. If you’re tired of constantly battling pet hair, I highly recommend giving the Roomba S9 a try.
