Why does Music pop up on my lock screen?

Answered by Phillip Nicastro

There could be a few reasons why the Music app pops up on your lock screen. Here are some possible causes and solutions:

1. Background App Refresh: One reason could be that the Music app is allowed to refresh in the background, which causes it to appear on the lock screen. To fix this, you can disable background app refresh for the Music app. Go to your iPhone’s settings, then select General, and tap on Background App Refresh. Find the Music app in the list and toggle off its background refresh.

2. Notifications: Another reason for the Music app appearing on the lock screen could be due to notifications. By default, the Music app is set to show notifications on the lock screen. To disable this, go to settings, then select Notifications. Scroll down to find the Music app and tap on it. From there, you can disable the option to show notifications on the lock screen.

3. Siri Suggestions: Siri may also suggest the Music app on the lock screen based on your usage patterns. To prevent this, you can disable Siri suggestions for the Music app. Go to settings, then select Siri & Search. Find the Music app in the list and toggle off the option for Siri Suggestions.

4. Control Center: The Music app may also appear on the lock screen if it is added to the Control Center. When you swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Control Center, the Music app may be easily accessible. To remove it from the Control Center, go to settings, then select Control Center. Tap on Customize Controls and look for the Music app in the list. Tap the red minus button to remove it.

5. Software Update: Sometimes, software bugs can cause unexpected behavior on your iPhone. If none of the above solutions work, it may be worth checking if there are any available software updates for your device. Apple regularly releases updates to fix bugs and improve performance. To check for updates, go to settings, then select General, and tap on Software Update.

If the issue persists after trying these solutions, you may want to consider contacting Apple support for further assistance.
