Well, let me start by saying that I absolutely love national parks. I have been fortunate enough to visit several of them throughout my life, and each one has left a lasting impression on me. So, when it comes to the question of which state has the most national parks in the world, I can’t help but get excited.
Now, before I dive into the specifics, let’s clarify that we’re talking about national parks in the United States. While there are certainly incredible national parks in other parts of the world, the focus here is on the US.
So, without further ado, the state with the most national parks in the US is California. the Golden State takes the crown with a whopping nine national parks. And let me tell you, each one of them is a gem.
From the iconic Yosemite National Park, with its towering granite cliffs and majestic waterfalls, to the breathtaking beauty of Joshua Tree National Park, with its unique desert landscapes and iconic Joshua trees, California truly has it all. And let’s not forget about the stunning coastal scenery of Point Reyes National Seashore or the ancient giant sequoias of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
But California isn’t the only state with a strong national park game. Alaska comes in a close second with eight national parks. Now, I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting any of Alaska’s national parks yet, but I’ve heard incredible things about them.
From the rugged wilderness of Denali National Park and Preserve, home to North America’s tallest peak, to the stunning glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska’s national parks offer a truly unique and wild experience.
Utah takes the third spot with five national parks. I’ve had the opportunity to explore some of Utah’s national parks, and let me tell you, they are absolutely mind-blowing. From the otherworldly landscapes of Arches National Park, with its iconic Delicate Arch, to the majestic canyons of Zion National Park, Utah’s national parks are a photographer’s dream.
And finally, Colorado rounds out the top four with four national parks. Now, I have to admit that Colorado’s national parks are still on my bucket list, but from what I’ve seen in pictures and heard from friends, they are definitely worth a visit. From the stunning mountain scenery of Rocky Mountain National Park to the ancient ruins of Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado offers a diverse range of natural wonders.
So, there you have it. California takes the crown with the most national parks in the US, followed closely by Alaska, Utah, and Colorado. But no matter which state you find yourself in, there’s bound to be a national park nearby just waiting to be explored.
