Which Hangover movie is the best?

Answered by Frank Schwing

In my personal opinion, The Hangover trilogy is one of the most hilarious and memorable comedy series of all time. However, when it comes to ranking the movies from worst to best, I have to say that The Hangover Part III takes the bottom spot.

The Hangover Part III, released in 2013, received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences alike. While it deviated from the formula of the previous two films, which focused on a wild and outrageous bachelor party gone wrong, it failed to deliver the same level of comedy and excitement. The movie attempted to take on a more serious and action-packed tone, but the result felt forced and out of place. It seemed like the filmmakers were trying too hard to reinvent the series, and it just didn’t work for me. I found The Hangover Part III to be a disappointment compared to its predecessors.

Moving up the ladder, we come to The Hangover Part II, released in 2011. While this movie received a fair share of criticism for being too similar to the first film, I still found it to be an entertaining and enjoyable watch. The sequel took the familiar premise of a wild night out leading to a crazy adventure, but this time, the gang found themselves in the bustling city of Bangkok. The plot may have been somewhat predictable, but the comedic moments and the chemistry between the characters still managed to keep me engaged. Despite its flaws, The Hangover Part II provided enough laughs and memorable moments to make it a decent addition to the trilogy.

We have the original film, The Hangover, released in 2009. This movie is an absolute gem and is undoubtedly the best installment in the trilogy. The premise was fresh and exciting, and the execution was flawless. The story follows four friends who wake up after a wild night in Las Vegas with no memory of what happened and a missing groom. The search for clues and the hilarious misadventures that ensue had me laughing from start to finish. The Hangover perfectly blended outrageous comedy, clever storytelling, and unforgettable characters. It introduced us to the iconic trio of Phil, Stu, and Alan, played brilliantly by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis, respectively. The chemistry between the actors was electric, and their comedic timing was impeccable. The Hangover truly set the bar high for comedy movies and remains a timeless classic.

While The Hangover Part III fell short of expectations and The Hangover Part II may have been criticized for its similarity to the original, The Hangover stands tall as the best movie in the trilogy. Its clever storytelling, unforgettable characters, and non-stop laughter make it a must-watch for any comedy fan.
