Who owns Red Cat brewery?

Answered by Willie Powers

Red Cat Brewing is owned solely by myself, Andy, as I am now the sole proprietor of the brewery. I co-founded Red Cat Brewing with my friend Iain, but he has since moved on to other ventures. It has been an incredible journey building and growing the brewery over the years, and I am proud to be the owner and operator of Red Cat Brewing.

When I first started Red Cat Brewing, I never imagined that I would end up being the sole owner. Iain and I had a shared passion for brewing and a dream of creating unique and high-quality craft beers. We worked tirelessly to turn that dream into a reality, and for a while, we were partners in the business.

However, as with many partnerships, circumstances change and people move on to pursue different paths. Iain decided to pursue other ventures and left Red Cat Brewing. While it was difficult saying goodbye to my co-founder and friend, I knew that I wanted to continue the journey we had started together.

Taking on the role of sole proprietor meant that I had to transition from being primarily a Head Brewer to also taking on the responsibilities of running the business side of things. It was a steep learning curve, but one that I embraced wholeheartedly.

I found myself wearing many hats throughout the day, switching from brewing beer in the morning to tackling paperwork and administrative tasks in the afternoon. It was a challenging balancing act, but one that I was determined to master.

Being the sole proprietor of Red Cat Brewing has given me a newfound sense of responsibility and pride. I am not just the face of the brewery, but I am also responsible for its success and growth. Every decision I make, from recipe development to marketing strategies, has a direct impact on the brewery’s future.

One of the biggest advantages of being the sole owner is the freedom to make decisions without having to consult with a partner. I can experiment with new beer styles, create unique collaborations with other breweries, and take risks that I believe will benefit Red Cat Brewing.

However, being the sole owner also means bearing the weight of any failures or setbacks. There is no one to share the burden or bounce ideas off of. It can be daunting at times, but it also pushes me to constantly strive for excellence and to trust my instincts.

Owning Red Cat Brewing has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to build a brand, connect with customers who appreciate our beers, and be a part of the vibrant craft beer community. I am grateful for the journey I have been on and excited for what the future holds for Red Cat Brewing.
