Who Can See My Nest Camera?
When it comes to the privacy and security of your home, it’s important to know who can see your Nest camera. By default, only the members of your home who also sign in with a Google Account will be able to see your Nest products in the Nest app. This means that you have control over who can access and view your camera footage.
However, there is an option to share access to your home and Nest products with other people through the use of family accounts. This can be useful if you want to give access to trusted family members or friends. By adding them as family members, they will be able to see and control your Nest camera along with other Nest products.
It’s worth noting that when you invite someone to join your home as a family member, they will have the same level of access and control over your Nest products as you do. This means they can view your camera footage, adjust settings, and receive notifications.
To add someone as a family member, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the Nest app on your smartphone.
2. Tap on the settings icon in the top right corner.
3. Select “Family & Guests” from the menu.
4. Tap on the “+” button to add a new family member.
5. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and tap “Send Invitation.”
Once the person receives the invitation, they will need to accept it and sign in with their Google Account. After that, they will have access to your Nest products, including your camera.
It’s important to use caution when inviting others as family members, as they will have access to your camera footage. Make sure you only invite people you trust and with whom you feel comfortable sharing this level of access. Additionally, you can always remove someone as a family member if you no longer want them to have access to your Nest products.
Only home members who sign in with a Google Account will be able to see your Nest products in the Nest app by default. However, you have the option to share access with trusted family members through family accounts. It’s important to be mindful of who you invite and consider the level of access you are granting them to your Nest camera.
