What is the spirituality of St Arnold?

Answered by Tom Adger

St. Arnold’s spirituality was deeply rooted in his love for Christ and his desire to spread that love throughout the world. He believed that the message of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was one of immense importance and wanted to share it with as many people as possible.

One way in which St. Arnold expressed his spirituality was through the distribution of the prayer book “The Apostleship Prayer.” This little book contained prayers and devotions centered around the apostleship of prayer, which was the idea that all Christians are called to be apostles and spread the love of Christ through their prayers and actions.

St. Arnold saw himself as a messenger of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, someone who could help others deepen their relationship with Christ and become more devoted to him. He was enthusiastic about this role and dedicated himself to spreading the message of the Sacred Heart.

In his travels throughout Europe, St. Arnold distributed thousands of copies of “The Apostleship Prayer” to individuals and communities. He believed that by encouraging others to pray and live out their faith, he could help bring about a renewal of spirituality and a deeper love for Christ.

The spirituality of St. Arnold can be seen in his own personal devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He lived a life of prayer and sought to imitate the love and compassion of Christ in his interactions with others. St. Arnold believed that by living out the message of the Sacred Heart in his own life, he could inspire others to do the same.

This spirituality was not limited to just prayer and devotion, but also encompassed a call to action. St. Arnold believed that the love of Christ should not be confined within the walls of a church, but should be shared with the world. He encouraged others to live out their faith in tangible ways, to serve those in need and to strive for justice and peace.

The spirituality of St. Arnold can be characterized by his love for Christ and his desire to spread that love throughout the world. He saw himself as a messenger of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and dedicated himself to sharing the message of the apostleship of prayer. St. Arnold’s spirituality encompassed both prayer and action, as he believed that the love of Christ should be lived out in all aspects of life.
