What happened to my Grammarly?

Answered by Jason Smith

If you find that Grammarly is not visible in Microsoft Word, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. One common solution is to check the COM Add-ins settings in Word.

To start, open Microsoft Word and navigate to the File tab. Once there, click on Options. In the Word Options dialog box, select Add-Ins from the left-hand sidebar.

At the bottom of the tab, you will find the Manage drop-down menu. Click on it and select COM Add-ins. Then, click on the Go button next to the menu.

This will open the COM Add-ins dialog box. Make sure that the box beside Grammarly is selected. If it is not, click on it to enable Grammarly as a COM Add-in. Once you have done that, click on OK.

After making these changes, restart Microsoft Word. Grammarly should now be visible and accessible within Word.

If the issue persists even after enabling Grammarly as a COM Add-in, there may be other factors at play. It could be a compatibility issue with your version of Microsoft Word or with other installed add-ins.

In such cases, it is recommended to check for updates to both Microsoft Word and Grammarly. Make sure you have the latest versions installed. Additionally, you can try disabling other add-ins temporarily to see if they are conflicting with Grammarly.

If none of these solutions resolve the problem, you may need to reach out to Grammarly’s support team for further assistance. They have resources and expertise to help you troubleshoot the issue and get Grammarly working again in Microsoft Word.

Remember, it’s always a good idea to keep your software and add-ins up to date to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
