What do you do on your elf on the first day?

Answered by Antonio Sutton

On the first day that our Elf on the Shelf arrived, it was such an exciting and magical moment for my kids. They couldn’t wait to give our elf a name! We gathered around the kitchen table, with the elf sitting in the center, waiting to be christened with a special name.

We brainstormed together, throwing out all sorts of ideas. The kids were filled with excitement and creativity, coming up with names that ranged from silly to serious. We laughed and giggled as we went through the list of possibilities.

One of my kids suggested the name “Jingle,” because our elf had little jingle bells on his shoes. Another one thought “Sparkle” would be a perfect name, because the elf’s outfit was so sparkly and festive. We even had a suggestion for “Snowflake,” because our elf had a white, fluffy collar.

After considering all the options, we finally settled on the name “Twinkle.” It seemed like the perfect fit for our mischievous little elf. The kids loved the name and couldn’t wait to start sharing their adventures with Twinkle.

Naming our Elf on the Shelf was such a special moment for our family. It was a chance for the kids to use their imagination and creativity, and it made the whole experience even more personal and fun. Plus, having a name for our elf made him feel like a true member of our family.

From that day on, Twinkle became a beloved part of our holiday traditions. The kids would wake up every morning, eager to find out where Twinkle had moved to during the night. They would excitedly share their discoveries with each other, and it became a wonderful bonding experience for them.

Naming our Elf on the Shelf was just the beginning of the magical adventures that awaited us throughout the holiday season. It was a joy to see the excitement and wonder in my kids’ eyes as they interacted with Twinkle and created memories that would last a lifetime.

So, if you’re welcoming an Elf on the Shelf into your home, I highly recommend letting your kids have fun picking out a name. It adds an extra layer of excitement and personalization to the experience, making it even more memorable for everyone involved. Let their imaginations soar and enjoy the journey with your elf and your family!
