When Is The Strain Season 5 ?

The fifth and final season of the horror-drama TV show The Strain has come to a close, leaving fans of the show with plenty to mull over. The series, adapted from novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, tells the story of a mysterious virus that turns everyday people into vampire-like creatures.

This season followed protagonist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) as he battled his former colleague turned vampire-overlord Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel). With the help of his ragtag team of allies including Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley), Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand), Dutch Velders (Ruta Gedmintas), and Gus Elizalde (Miguel Gomez), Ephraim was able to find a way to defeat Eichorst and his minions while also managing to save humanity from certain doom.

Season 5 saw several major changes in the characters’ arcs. For instance, Vasiliy Fet had become an unlikely hero, going from a street thug to an essential member of the group whose courage and determination saved them multiple times. On the other hand, we also saw a darker side to Dutch Velders as her obsession with revenge led her down some dangerous paths.

Although this season was more action-packed than ever, it still managed to maintain its signature blend of horror and drama that made it such an enjoyable watch in the first place. We were treated to some truly epic fight scenes between Goodweather and Eichorst as well as some truly horrifying moments like when an entire building is filled with Strigoi cocoons ready to hatch at any moment.

Fans were also given plenty of opportunities for emotional catharsis this season, particularly in the form of Kaitlin Riley’s heartbreaking performance as Kelly Goodweather, who sacrifices herself so that her son Zachary can live on.
