To know your password, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the Chrome app on your Android phone or tablet.
2. Look for the address bar at the top of the screen. To the right of it, you’ll see the “More” icon (three vertical dots). Tap on it.
3. From the dropdown menu, select “Settings.”
4. In the settings menu, scroll down and tap on “Passwords.”
5. Here, you will see a list of all the passwords saved in Chrome. Each entry will display the website or app name, username, and a masked password.
6. To view a password, simply tap on the entry you’re interested in. You’ll be prompted to authenticate your device using your phone’s security method, such as a fingerprint, PIN, or pattern.
7. After authentication, you can see the password by tapping on the “Show password” option. Make sure you do this in a secure and private environment to protect your information.
8. If you want to delete a password, find the entry you wish to remove and tap on it. A dialog box will appear asking if you want to remove the saved password. Confirm your action by selecting “Delete.”
9. If you need to edit a password, unfortunately, Chrome does not provide a built-in feature for this. However, you can manually update the password by visiting the website or app and changing it there. Chrome will prompt you to save the new password, and you can choose to update the existing entry.
10. Lastly, if you want to export your passwords, Chrome offers an option to do so. In the “Passwords” menu, tap on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner and select “Export passwords.” You will be prompted to authenticate your device, and then you can choose a location to save the exported file, usually in CSV format.
It’s important to remember that passwords contain sensitive information, and you should always prioritize security when accessing or managing them. Use strong, unique passwords for each website or app, enable two-factor authentication whenever possible, and regularly update your passwords to enhance your online safety.
