To test a Ring Chime, follow these steps:
1. Open the Ring app on your smartphone or tablet.
2. Tap on the menu icon, which consists of three horizontal lines, located in the top left corner of the screen. This will open the side menu.
3. From the side menu, tap on “Devices” to view a list of your Ring devices.
4. Locate and select your Chime Pro from the list of devices. If you have multiple Chimes, make sure you choose the correct one.
5. Once you’ve selected your Chime Pro, tap on “Audio Settings” to access the chime tone options.
6. In the “Audio Settings” menu, you will find “Chime Tones.” Tap on this option to view the available chime tones.
7. You will see two options: “Rings” and “Motions.” These correspond to the different types of alerts that can trigger your Chime Pro.
8. Tap on either “Rings” or “Motions” to select the desired chime tone for that specific type of alert.
9. Once you’ve chosen the chime tone, you can test it by tapping on the “Test Sound” button located at the bottom of the screen.
10. When you tap the “Test Sound” button, your Chime Pro will emit the selected chime tone, allowing you to hear how it sounds.
11. If you’re satisfied with the chime tone, you can exit the app and your Chime Pro will use the selected tone for future alerts.
It’s important to note that the Chime Pro needs to be connected to your Ring doorbell or security camera for it to function properly. Ensure that your Chime Pro is properly set up and connected to your Ring devices before testing the chime tone.
If you encounter any issues while testing the chime tone or if the chime tone does not change as expected, you may need to troubleshoot your Chime Pro or contact Ring support for further assistance.
