How do you set a timer that goes off every hour?

Answered by Jarrod Smith

Here’s how I set a timer that goes off every hour using the Reminders app. First, I open the app on my phone and create a new reminder. I type in the task or event I want to be reminded of every hour.

Once I have entered the task, I tap on the info button (usually represented by an “i” or a circle with an “i” inside) next to the reminder. This opens up the reminder details page where I can customize the settings.

On the reminder details page, I look for an option that says “Remind me at a time” and toggle it on. This allows me to set a specific time for the reminder to go off.

Next, I select the nearest half hour from the available options. For example, if it’s currently 1:15 PM, I would select 1:30 PM as the reminder time.

After setting the reminder time, I scroll down and look for the “Repeat” option. I tap on it and select “Hourly” from the repeat options. This ensures that the reminder will go off every hour at the designated time.

Once I have finished customizing the settings, I tap on the “Done” button to save the reminder. From now on, the reminder will go off every hour at the selected time, helping me stay on track with my tasks throughout the day.

I find this feature particularly useful when I’m working on a project or studying for exams. It serves as a gentle nudge to remind me to take breaks, drink water, or move around to avoid sitting for too long.

Setting reminders that go off every hour has been a game-changer for my productivity and time management. It helps me stay focused and ensures that I don’t lose track of time.
