To enable the double tap shortcut on your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro, you can follow these steps:
1. Start by opening the Settings app on your device. You can do this by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping the gear icon in the top right corner, or by finding the Settings app in your app drawer.
2. Once you’re in the Settings app, scroll down until you find the “System” option and tap on it. This will open the System settings menu.
3. In the System menu, scroll down again until you see the “Gestures” option. Tap on it to access the Gestures settings.
4. Inside the Gestures menu, look for the “Quick tap” option and tap on it. This is where you can enable the double tap shortcut.
5. In the Quick tap settings, you’ll see a toggle switch at the top of the screen. Tap on the switch to turn on the double tap shortcut.
6. After enabling the double tap shortcut, you can customize its behavior by tapping on the “Double tap action” option below the toggle switch. This will allow you to choose what action or app should be triggered when you double tap on the back of your device.
7. Once you’ve selected your desired action, you can exit the Settings app and try out the double tap shortcut by double tapping on the back of your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro.
It’s worth noting that the double tap feature on the Pixel 6 series is part of the new Pixel Feature Drop, so make sure your device is running the latest software update to access this functionality. Additionally, keep in mind that the double tap shortcut may not work if you have a thick case or cover on your device, as it relies on the back of the phone being tapped directly.
