To reset your AirPods to factory settings and change the name, you can follow these steps:

On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
1. Open the Settings app on your device.
2. Scroll down and tap on Bluetooth.
3. Find your AirPods in the list of devices and tap the “i” icon next to them.
4. Tap on “Forget This Device” and confirm the action.
5. Now, go back to the main Bluetooth settings screen and make sure your AirPods are not connected.
6. Put your AirPods in their case and close the lid.
7. Wait for about 30 seconds, then open the lid.
8. On the back of the AirPods case, you’ll find a small button. Press and hold it until the LED indicator on the front starts flashing white.
9. Keep the lid open and bring your AirPods close to your device.
10. A setup animation should appear on your device. Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect your AirPods.

After resetting your AirPods, you can now change their name:

On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
1. Make sure your AirPods are connected to your device.
2. Open the Settings app and go to Bluetooth.
3. Find your AirPods in the list of devices and tap the “i” icon next to them.
4. Tap on the current name of your AirPods.
5. Enter a new name for your AirPods and tap Done.

On Mac:
1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
2. Click on Bluetooth.
3. In the list of devices, find your AirPods and click the “X” button next to them to remove them.
4. Follow the steps mentioned earlier to reset your AirPods.
5. Once they are reset, click on the “+” button at the bottom left of the Bluetooth preferences window to add a new device.
6. Select your AirPods from the list and click Continue.
7. Now, you can enter a new name for your AirPods and click Done.

Remember, resetting your AirPods will remove any custom settings or configurations you have made. After the reset, you’ll need to set them up again and reconfigure any settings you prefer.
