To link another email account to your Gmail, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Settings icon, which looks like a gear, located in the top right corner of your Gmail inbox.
2. From the drop-down menu, select “Settings.”
3. In the Settings menu, click on the “Accounts and Import” tab.
4. Under the “Check mail from other accounts” section, you will find the “Add a mail account” link. Click on it.
5. A new window will pop up, asking you to enter the email address of the account you want to link to Gmail. Type in the email address and click “Next.”
6. Now you have two options: you can either link the accounts or import emails from the linked account. Let’s first discuss linking the accounts.
7. If you choose to link the accounts, Gmail will check the other email account for new messages and display them in your Gmail inbox. You can even send emails from your linked account directly from Gmail. Click “Link Account.”
8. In the next step, you will be asked to provide the login credentials for the other email account. Enter the username and password for the account you want to link, and click “Add Account.”
9. Depending on the email provider, you might need to go through additional steps for authentication or granting access to Gmail. Follow the prompts and provide any necessary information.
10. Once you have successfully linked the accounts, Gmail will start retrieving emails from the linked account, and you will start seeing them in your Gmail inbox. You can easily distinguish them by the label applied to those messages.
11. If you prefer to import emails from the linked account instead of linking them, select the option to “Import emails from my other account (POP3)” instead of linking. This allows you to import all existing and future emails from the linked account into Gmail.
12. After selecting the import option, click “Next.” You will be asked to provide the email address and password for the other account, just like in the previous step.
13. Additionally, you can specify if you want to leave a copy of the imported messages on the server or archive them. You can also choose to label imported messages or apply a custom label to them.
14. Once you have provided the necessary information, click “Add Account.” Gmail will start importing emails from the linked account, and you will find them in your Gmail inbox.
By following these steps, you will be able to link or import emails from another email account to your Gmail. This integration can be helpful in managing multiple accounts from a single interface, making it easier to access and organize your emails.
