To deactivate a device on Netflix, follow these steps based on the platform you are using:
For iOS:
1. Open a mobile browser (e.g., Safari) on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Go to the Netflix website and sign in to your account.
3. Tap on the profile menu located at the top right corner of the screen or tap on the “More” option if you can’t find the profile menu.
4. From the drop-down menu, select “Account” to access your account settings.
5. Scroll down and find the section labeled “Settings.”
6. Under “Settings,” select “Manage Download Devices.”
For Android:
1. Open a mobile browser (e.g., Chrome) on your Android device.
2. Visit the Netflix website and login to your account.
3. Tap on the profile menu located at the top right corner of the screen or tap on “More” if you don’t see the profile menu.
4. From the menu, choose “Account” to access your account settings.
5. Scroll down to the “Settings” section.
6. Within “Settings,” select “Manage Download Devices.”
For Amazon Fire:
1. Open a mobile browser (e.g., Silk) on your Amazon Fire device.
2. Visit the Netflix website and sign in to your account.
3. Tap on the profile menu or “More” option if needed.
4. Select “Account” from the drop-down menu to access your account settings.
5. Scroll down to the “Settings” section.
6. Under “Settings,” choose “Manage Download Devices.”
Regardless of the platform, once you are on the “Manage Download Devices” page, you will see a list of devices associated with your Netflix account. To remove a device, simply select the “Remove Device” option next to the device you want to deactivate. Confirm the action, and the device will be removed from your account.
It’s worth mentioning that removing a device from your Netflix account will not cancel any active subscriptions or affect your account in any other way. It simply removes the ability for that particular device to download content for offline viewing.
