Roku TVs do not have built-in DVD players. However, you can still watch DVDs on a Roku TV by connecting an external DVD player to one of the available HDMI ports. Most Roku TVs have at least two HDMI ports, labeled HDMI1 and HDMI2, but some models may have more.
To connect your DVD player to a Roku TV, follow these steps:
1. Locate the HDMI port on your Roku TV. It is usually located on the back or side of the TV and is labeled as HDMI1 or HDMI2.
2. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output port on your DVD player.
3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI input port on your Roku TV. Make sure to remember which HDMI port you used.
4. Turn on your DVD player and Roku TV.
5. Use the Roku TV remote to navigate to the input/source menu. This is usually accessed by pressing the “Input” or “Source” button on the remote.
6. Select the HDMI input that you connected your DVD player to. For example, if you connected it to HDMI1, select HDMI1 from the list.
7. Your Roku TV should now display the video and audio from your DVD player. Use the DVD player remote control to control playback, adjust settings, and navigate menus.
If you have multiple devices that you want to connect to your Roku TV, such as a cable box or gaming console, and all HDMI ports are occupied, you can use an HDMI switcher. An HDMI switcher allows you to connect multiple HDMI devices to a single HDMI port on your TV. You can then switch between devices using the switcher’s remote control.
I personally have a Roku TV with a DVD player connected using the HDMI1 port. This setup allows me to watch my favorite DVDs without the need for an additional DVD player or a separate TV. It’s convenient to have everything in one place.
Roku TVs do not have built-in DVD players, but you can easily connect an external DVD player to watch DVDs on a Roku TV. Simply connect your DVD player to one of the available HDMI ports, select the corresponding HDMI input on your Roku TV, and enjoy your favorite movies.
