Daddy’s Home 3 is the third installment in the Daddy’s Home franchise. The movie follows the continuing story of Brad and Dusty, stepfather and father, respectively, who are now joined by their fathers. Brad’s father, Don, is played by actor Mel Gibson and Dusty’s father, Kurt, is played by John Lithgow.
The movie starts out with Brad and Dusty dealing with their own individual issues. Don and Kurt bring a lot of comedic relief to the film as they become involved in various hijinks with their sons throughout the movie. The two fathers also have different parenting styles which causes tension between them until they eventually come to terms with each other over time.
Aside from the main plotline of Don and Kurt getting involved in their son’s lives, there are also numerous subplots that help to further develop the characters. One of these subplots involves Don attempting to teach Brad how to be a better father while another sees Dusty trying to make amends for past mistakes he’s made as a parent.
Daddy’s Home 3 does well at offering up plenty of laughs while also maintaining its heartwarming moments throughout its runtime. The characters are all likable and it’s easy to connect with them on an emotional level as they face various struggles throughout the film’s narrative arc. It also helps that this installment provides some fresh new faces in addition to returning favorites from previous films in order to keep things interesting for longtime fans of this series.
Is There A Daddy’s Home 3 Coming Out?
Daddy’s Home 3 has not been officially announced yet, but we are optimistic people so we will hope it will happen sometime in late 2022 or early 2023. The first Daddy’s Home was released in December 2015, and the follow-up, Daddy’s Home 2, was released in November 2017. So a three-year gap between sequels seems abut right.
