Can you send Apple ID verification code to email?

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to send Apple ID verification codes to an email address. Apple uses two-factor authentication as an added layer of security for Apple ID accounts, and this process relies on having a trusted phone number or another Apple device to receive the verification codes.

The purpose of two-factor authentication is to ensure that only the owner of the Apple ID can access their account, even if someone else knows the password. By sending the verification codes to a trusted phone number or device, Apple ensures that only the person with access to that specific phone or device can authorize access to the Apple ID.

Adding another trusted phone number is an option if you don’t have access to the original phone number used for verification. This additional phone number can be any phone that is capable of receiving text messages, not necessarily an iPhone. To add a trusted phone number, you can follow these steps:

1. Go to the Apple ID account page (appleid.apple.com) and sign in with your Apple ID and password.
2. Under the “Security” section, click on “Edit” next to “Trusted Phone Numbers.”
3. Click on “Add a Trusted Phone Number” and enter the phone number you want to add.
4. Choose whether you want to receive the verification code via text message or phone call.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify the new phone number.

Once you’ve added the new trusted phone number, you can use it to receive verification codes and access your Apple ID account. It’s important to keep in mind that both trusted phone numbers will receive the verification codes, so make sure that you have access to both numbers.

Apple currently does not offer the option to send verification codes to an email address. Two-factor authentication requires a trusted phone number or Apple device to receive the codes. Adding another trusted phone number is an alternative solution if you don’t have access to the original phone number.
