You can pair two Bluetooth headphones at once with an iPhone. This feature has been introduced by Apple with the iOS 13.2 update and is called Share Audio. It allows you to listen to the same audio on two different Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
I recently had the opportunity to try out this feature, and I must say, it’s quite convenient. Previously, if my partner and I wanted to watch a movie or listen to music together, we had to use a headphone splitter or take turns using a single pair of headphones. But with Share Audio, we can now each use our own Bluetooth headphones and still enjoy the audio together.
To use this feature, both headphones need to be compatible with the Share Audio feature. You’ll also need to make sure that both headphones are connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth. Once you have both headphones connected, simply go to the Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen (or up from the bottom on older iPhone models). Then, long-press on the audio playback widget (the one that shows the song or video you’re currently playing). This will expand the widget and show additional controls.
In the expanded widget, you’ll see a small icon with two overlapping circles. Tap on this icon, and a list of available Bluetooth devices will appear. Select the second pair of headphones you want to connect, and both headphones will now be linked to your iPhone and playing the same audio.
I find this feature particularly useful when traveling. For example, when my partner and I are on a plane or a long car ride, we can both watch a movie on our own devices and listen with our own headphones, without disturbing other passengers or having to share a single pair of headphones.
It’s worth noting that not all Bluetooth headphones support the Share Audio feature. So, if you’re planning to use this feature, make sure to check if your headphones are compatible. Additionally, the Share Audio feature is currently only available on devices running iOS 13.2 or later.
With the Share Audio feature introduced in iOS 13.2, you can pair two Bluetooth headphones at once with your iPhone and listen to the same audio simultaneously. This feature is convenient for sharing audio with a partner or friend, especially during activities like watching movies or listening to music together.
