Can u triple PIP in DBD?

Answered by Randy McIntyre

In Dead by Daylight (DBD), the ranking system is based on a pip system, where players earn pips to progress through the ranks. While there are three pips displayed on the rank bar, it is not possible to triple pip in DBD. Let me explain why.

The rank system in DBD is divided into 20 ranks, with Rank 1 being the highest and Rank 20 being the lowest. Each rank has four pips associated with it, represented by white and black icons on the rank bar. The white pips indicate progress towards ranking up, while the black pip serves as a safety net to prevent you from losing a pip.

To rank up in DBD, you need to earn a certain number of pips within a specific time frame. Generally, you need two white pips to advance to the next rank. However, if you reach Rank 1, you only need one white pip to maintain your current rank.

Now, let’s talk about the three pips displayed on the rank bar. The third pip, which is black, does not contribute to ranking up. Its purpose is to prevent you from losing a pip when you perform poorly in a match. Essentially, if you have a black pip and you would have lost a pip due to a loss or poor performance, you will retain your current rank instead.

So, while there may be three pips shown on the rank bar, only two of them (the white pips) actually help you progress through the ranks. The black pip is simply a buffer to prevent you from getting demoted.

In my personal experience with DBD, I have encountered situations where I managed to double pip (earning two white pips) in a match due to exceptional performance. However, I have never come across a scenario where triple pipping was possible. The ranking system is designed in a way that limits players to double pipping at most.

It is not possible to triple pip in DBD. The third black pip on the rank bar serves as a safeguard against losing a pip, but it does not contribute to ranking up. Players can aim to earn two white pips to progress through the ranks, but triple pipping is not achievable within the game’s mechanics.
