I recently tried playing Brawlhalla on my Mac M1, and I wanted to share my experience with you. Please keep in mind that my experience may not be the same for everyone, but I hope it gives you some insights.
To play Brawlhalla on Mac M1, I had to sideload the app since it’s not officially available on the Mac App Store. This involved downloading the app from a third-party source and installing it manually. While this process was a bit more involved than simply downloading from the App Store, it was relatively straightforward.
Once I had the app installed, I connected my controller to my Mac M1. Brawlhalla is a game that is best played with a controller, so I highly recommend using one for the best experience. Thankfully, my controller was recognized without any issues, and I was able to start playing.
In terms of performance, I did notice some framerate drops during gameplay. It wasn’t a constant issue, but there were moments where the game would stutter or lag for a brief moment. This was a bit disappointing, as I was hoping for smooth gameplay on my Mac M1. However, it wasn’t significant enough to make the game unplayable.
Another issue I encountered was occasional sound stuttering. There were moments where the sound would cut out or stutter for a few seconds before returning to normal. While this didn’t impact gameplay directly, it did affect the overall experience and immersion.
Despite these performance issues, I was still able to enjoy playing Brawlhalla on my Mac M1. The controls were responsive, and the gameplay mechanics felt smooth for the most part. It’s worth noting that Brawlhalla is not a demanding game in terms of graphics, so it should be playable on the Mac M1, albeit with some minor hiccups.
While it is possible to play Brawlhalla on a Mac M1, there are some performance issues to be aware of. Framerate drops and occasional sound stuttering can occur, but they don’t make the game unplayable. If you’re a fan of Brawlhalla and don’t mind these minor hiccups, you should be able to enjoy the game on your Mac M1.
