To get out of an ASUS boot loop, you can try the following steps:
1. Power off the laptop: Make sure your laptop is completely powered off. You can do this by holding down the power button until it shuts down.
2. Remove power supply: Once the laptop is off, unplug the power supply from the wall outlet or disconnect it from your laptop.
3. Remove the battery: If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out carefully. This step may not be applicable if you have a non-removable battery.
4. Press power button for 30 seconds: With the battery removed and power supply disconnected, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. This will help discharge any residual power in the system.
5. Replace the battery: If you removed the battery in step 3, put it back in its place properly.
6. Connect mains power: Reconnect the power supply to the laptop and plug it back into a wall outlet or connect it to your laptop.
7. Press power to boot ON: press the power button to turn on your laptop. It should start up normally without getting stuck in a boot loop.
If the boot loop issue persists, you can try the following additional troubleshooting steps:
1. Boot into Safe Mode: If your laptop manages to start up but still gets stuck in a boot loop, try booting into Safe Mode. Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. In the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode and press Enter. If your laptop successfully boots into Safe Mode, you may have a software or driver issue causing the boot loop.
2. Perform a System Restore: If you recently installed new software or drivers before the boot loop started, you can try performing a system restore to a point before the issue occurred. Boot into Safe Mode (as described in the previous step) and then go to the Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection. From there, choose System Restore and follow the prompts to select a restore point.
3. Use the Windows Recovery Environment: If the above steps do not resolve the boot loop, you can try using the Windows Recovery Environment. Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. In the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Repair Your Computer and press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions to access the recovery options and choose Startup Repair or System Restore.
If none of the above steps work, it might be necessary to seek professional help or contact ASUS support for further assistance.
