When I first arrived in Palm Desert, I was blown away by the sheer number of golf courses in the area. It truly is a golfer’s paradise. I soon discovered that there are over 100 private and public courses in Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and the surrounding Coachella Valley. I couldn’t believe my luck – I was surrounded by a golfing haven!
I decided to take advantage of the ideal winter temperatures and perfect my game year round. I started by exploring some of the public courses in the area. One of my favorites is Desert Willow Golf Resort. It offers two championship courses – the Firecliff Course and the Mountain View Course. Both courses are beautifully designed and offer a challenging yet enjoyable experience.
Another public course that caught my attention is the Indian Wells Golf Resort. It features two stunning courses – the Celebrity Course and the Players Course. The Celebrity Course has hosted the PGA Tour’s Bob Hope Classic, and the Players Course offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
I also had the opportunity to play at the Desert Princess Country Club. This course offers lush fairways, strategic bunkers, and stunning water features. It’s a true oasis in the desert.
Of course, there are plenty of private courses in Palm Desert as well. One notable example is the Bighorn Golf Club. This exclusive club boasts two championship courses – the Canyons Course and the Mountains Course. The Canyons Course is known for its dramatic elevation changes and stunning views, while the Mountains Course offers a more traditional layout with tree-lined fairways.
Another prestigious private club is The Vintage Club. This club features two Tom Fazio-designed courses – the Desert Course and the Mountain Course. The Desert Course is known for its challenging bunkers and undulating greens, while the Mountain Course offers breathtaking views and strategic shot placement.
I could go on and on about the incredible golf courses in Palm Desert. From the beautiful desert landscapes to the world-class designs, there is truly something for every golfer here. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, Palm Desert offers a golfing experience like no other.
